Engrained Brewery & Restaurant has launched a bottled beer line, now available to purchase in a six-pack at the restaurant.
Owners, Brent and Melissa Schwoerer have seen demand for their craft beer grow since launching the brewery and farm to table restaurant next to Scheels in 2013. The popularity of the local craft beer, brewed at 1120 West Lincolnshire Boulevard location by brewmaster Brent, lead to the new bottling program, which includes Blackberry Lager, German Lager, Hefeweizen, India Pale Ale, Irish Red Ale, Oatmeal Stout and a changing Seasonal brew.
Brent said patrons of Engrained have previously been able to take the craft beer away in a growler, but this has a limited shelf life. “Bottled beer stays fresh longer, which is perfect for sharing with friends and family during the holidays.”
Typically, around a dozen Engrained beers are available on tap at the restaurant and half of these are offered year round, with regularly updated seasonal styles, many using Illinois hops.
Engrained is now rooted in the Springfield community, as are its owners. “Springfield is our home, and we want to see it grow and thrive so that our children can have a future here,” said Melissa. “This is a special place where people know and care about each other, and we are fortunate to have the support of our community.”
As a result of this passion to support the local economy the Engrained menu uses beef, pork, cheese, chicken, and eggs from Central Illinois farmers, and features traditional American family style food such as Black Angus burgers, steaks, salads, and flatbreads. “We believe in supporting the community we live in and that means sourcing as many of our ingredients as possible from local family farms,” said Melissa, a Springfield native.
Engrained opens for lunch and dinner daily and has a large private event space for parties, meetings, and gatherings.
