Springfield’s hottest new band makes its debut appearance on August 12th at Danenberger Family Vineyards between 5pm and 8pm.
While Soul Patrol is a new project, the brainchild of popular vocalist and Springfield native Brooke Thomas, each of the band members has been playing together on and off since 2010.
With Brooke’s sultry vocals, the funkiest and most solid rhythm duo in town, Chris Warren and Dion Doss, the smooth sounds of Ezra Casey on keys and the subtle yet sizzling sounds of Luke Turasky on guitar, this band has a matchless sound.
Soul Patrol plays cover songs but also has a focus on creating and sharing original music. “Over the years, I have found my solace in writing music,” said Brooke. “Life is full of so many experiences and emotions and music have given me the ability to express exactly what I feel both lyrically and musically. It’s been thrilling to watch these guys take songs and turn them into something that far exceeds what I originally envisioned. They are incredibly talented and I’m so lucky to get to work with each of them.”
Influences such as Sharon Jones, Joss Stone, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Etta James and the queen of soul herself, Aretha Franklin have inspired the sounds of Soul Patrol. “They are a seamless balance of soul, pop, blues, Motown and even jazz,” added Brooke.
