What is the most rewarding part of owning a small business?

I would say the people in this community. It's great to get to know the people that make up this city and surrounding areas and to be able to help them along their health journey. People often refer to Springfield as a small big town, and I am reminded of that when I realize how many people know each other and are connected here. And it's those same people that really champion small businesses in Springfield.

What is the most challenging aspect of running a small business?

Similar to my answer before, people drive it all. And I'm constantly struggling with wanting to reach more people and help more people but to continue to deliver the same quality of care for everyone. As a small business I don't have a staff of two or three dozen people to delegate to, so the pressure of wanting to deliver time-and-time again on a bigger scale is a big challenge, but a healthy pressure and healthy challenge.

Why is Springfield a good place to do business?

First and foremost because I was born and raised here; my family and friends are all here and I take a lot of pride and interest in the vitality of this city. I feel like there has been a conscious effort to champion small businesses in this city for as long as I can remember, and that only seems to have grown in vigour recently. Who wouldn't want to do business and support other businesses in a climate like that?

What is the most rewarding part of owning a small business?

Having a connection with my clients, giving back to the community, control of your own schedule, the opportunity to create a balance between work and life and the challenge and reward of helping people.

What is the most challenging aspect of running a small business?

Making sure to balance work and life.

Why is Springfield a good place to do business?

I have grown up in Springfield my entire life. It is a community that is focused on "the people." The philanthropic mission of the city is ever growing. People work hard; but value the good things that Springfield has to offer; rich history and thriving arts and culture. It is a community of many small business owners wanting to make the city of Springfield the best place to live for each of its residents.

Helping people and making a difference in their lives.  The relationships that we build with those we do business.  It’s my job to create a positive environment where that’s our focus.

Staying focused daily on our mission and purpose.

Why is Springfield a good place to do business?

Springfield has the right combination, large enough where there’s access to a sizeable marketplace, but with a small town feel.
