There’s still time to apply for a COUNTRY Financial scholarship.
If you are a college student that has demonstrated excellence in community service and live in Sangamon, Menard, Macoupin, Montgomery, Cass, Morgan and Greene counties you could be one of 10 to receive $2,000.
The deadline for applications, which can be made through the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln, is February 28, 2018.
Eighteen21 contributor, Jay Davis of COUNTRY Financial in Springfield, is among those advisors funding the new scholarship.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with some of our most exemplary youngsters – and their parents, teachers, and peers - over the past weeks, that have contacted us to inquire about the scholarship,” said Jay.
“It is my priority to ensure my clients’ families are well protected so that they have the resources available to provide for their children’s college education. This scholarship opportunity for those in Sangamon county, and our neighboring counties is an extension of my dedication to this community,” said Jay.
Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a non-weighted 4.0 scale, be an extraordinary example of service to others and to the community, will be a full-time student in the coming academic year at an accredited, nonprofit, public/private college/university, or vocational/technical institution, with no limitation as to the location of that institution, and must be a 1st to 4th year college student in the fall of 2018.
