Cocktail of the month: The Devil in Love

Graham of Floyd’s Thirst Parlor has created for us a cocktail from the heart – well, it is Valentine’s Day this month!

The Devil in Love comes out a little sweet, pink in hue, bubbly, and highly approachable.  The Briottet Creme de Pêche is a sweet, viscous liqueur with a vibrant peach flavor that is more natural than your average peach schnapps.  The blood orange character of the Campari blends perfectly with it while its bitterness combats the high sugar content of the Pêche.  Add floral and tart hibiscus and champagne - and you have a seductive flavor profile that can please just about anyone.  Well suited for Valentine's Day celebrations. 


The Devil in Love

0.75 oz. vodka

0.75 oz. Briottet Creme de Pêche

One tsp. Campari

One to two dashes of hibiscus bitters

Champagne or other dry, sparkling wine

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake thoroughly.  Strain into a champagne flute, or cocktail coupe, top with Champagne, and garnish with a spiraled lemon peel.
