Stephen Schwartz’s (Wicked) PIPPIN score is back with a circus twist and making its way to Springfield on Wednesday, January 18th to the Sangamon Auditorium at the University of Illinois Springfield.  The show begins at 7.30pm to tell the tale of a young prince who struggles to find meaning and himself as he faces life defining moments and finds himself in death-defying situations.  This award winning production showcases the talents of director and Tony® winner Diane Paulus, choreographer and Tony® Award nominee Chet Walker, and stunning acrobatics by Gypsy Snider of Les 7 doigts de la main (7 Fingers).  As the most nominated Broadway show in 2013, PIPPIN took home four Tony® Awards including Best Revival of a Musical and Best Direction of a Musical (Diane Paulus).  Along with these, PIPPIN also boasts four Drama Desk Awards, seven Outer Critic Circle Awards, and the Drama League Award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical.

American Musical and Dramatic Academy graduate Housso Semon will be making her national tour debut as the Leading Player.  Her impressive resume includes Deloris in Sister Act, Aida in Aida, Principle Singer on Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines, and singer for the creator of Cirque du Soleil, Franco Dragone.  Also making his national tour debut, in the lead role of Pippin, is Naysha Fox with supporting castmates Brendon Schaefer (King Charlemagne), Allison Nusbaum (Grandmother Berthe), Erica Lee Cianciulli (Fastrada), Savannah Sprinkle (Catherine), and Courtney Dease (Lewis).
