Illinois National Bank

Illinois National Bank (INB) was founded in 1999 by a group of bankers that wanted to bring local back to banking. Many had worked for the original INB that was founded in the 1800s. The bank was eventually bought out by a large, national bank. Its founders experienced what it was like to be part of a nationwide company – and they didn’t like it.

So in 1999, they opened the doors to a new generation of INB, right down the street from the Illinois State Capital. On opening day, there was a line of customers waiting outside. For the bankers who made this happen, there was no better validation to their business mantra: If you care, everything else will fall into place.

What started as a branch in downtown Springfield has grown to 13 branches located not only in Sangamon County but also throughout Central Illinois. A remittance processing center opened in 2000; it is the largest outside of the Chicago area and handles accounts for many area businesses as well as city, county and state municipalities.

Learn more about INB’s history, and why INB staff members are awed each day by the fact that they work where Lincoln once walked.

To help assure you have the cash you need for holiday shopping, stop by any INB branch to learn about “You Name It Savings.” The team will help you “Name It,” “2018 Christmas Shopping Money.”
