Pease’s at Bunn Gourmet in Springfield is the place to go for your gift giving during the holidays with handcrafted artisan chocolates, Pease’s Classic 100th-anniversary gift tower and build-your-own gift baskets to fit any budget. The store also offers gourmet popcorn, a sweet and salty nut sampler, and BUNN USDA Prime Black Angus steaks at its luxury location in The Gables.

It all began way back in 1840 when Jacob Bunn came to Springfield, IL and opened one of the city's first retail grocery stores at the corner of Fifth and Adams. The secret to his success was the focus on quality, always sourcing the finest products available. With Abe Lincoln as legal counsel and friend, Jacob and his brother John built a successful business legacy that continues to thrive to this day.

Many businesses followed the original corner grocery store including Bunn Chocolate Manufacturing, Illinois Watch Company, Sangamo Electric, Bunn Capitol Food Distributors and Bunn-O- Matic®.

While the Bunn family was building its legacy, Martin A. Pease, Sr. was busy founding a quality candy company that would span five generations. The business moved from Bloomington to Springfield in the 1930s and today, the fine candies and gourmet nuts are still made using the original recipes.

These two heritage brands came together under one roof to create Pease's at BUNN Gourmet™ in 2015. As well as offering the finest quality confections from Pease's, guests can also enjoy fresh quiche from Incredibly Delicious, locally raised USDA Prime and Choice beef from the Bunn Family Quarter B Farm, and a wide variety of beverages including locally roasted coffee from Custom Cup and the Bean Counter.

Pease’s at Bunn Gourmet customers will receive a $5 gift card with the purchase a $20 gift card during the holidays.

Engrained Brewery & Restaurant, located at 1120 West Lincolnshire Boulevard, has launched a bottled beer line, which is available to buy in a six-pack at the restaurant.

Engrained, next to Scheels, was opened by Brent and Melissa Schwoerer in 2013. Demand for their popular craft beer has lead to the new bottling program, which includes Blackberry Lager, German Lager, Hefeweizen, India Pale Ale, Irish Red Ale, Oatmeal Stout and a changing Seasonal brew.

Engrained beer was previously available to take away in a growler, but this has a more limited shelf life. “Bottled beer stays fresh longer, which is perfect for sharing with friends and family during the holidays,” said Brent.

Typically, 10 to 12 Engrained beers are available on tap at the restaurant. Six styles are offered year round, with regularly updated seasonal styles, many using Illinois hops.

“Springfield is our home, and we want to see it grow and thrive so that our children can have a future here. This is a special place where people know and care about each other, and we are fortunate to have the support of our community.”

Engrained opens for lunch and dinner daily and has a large private event space for parties, meetings, and gatherings.
