Company/organization: The Deb Sarsany Team at The Real Estate Group
Name: Deb Sarsany
What time does your alarm go off?
Between 6am and 7am, often depending on my schedule for that day.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
Grab coffee! Start checking emails and social media. I always like to post something to my business Facebook page or LinkedIn profile to jump start marketing for the day.
What do you do for lunch; eat in, out, go to the gym, meetings or work through?
Most days I work through lunch. I love when I can find the time to meet a past or current client for lunch or network with fellow business colleagues.
What are your work hours?
Work hours? Ha – I wish. There is no such thing in the real estate profession. Often I work 15-plus hours a day.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The people. I absolutely love meeting different people in all stages of life. I like the accomplished feeling of helping a first time, second time, or third time buyer and the satisfaction of bringing my sellers a great offer. Seeing everyone gather at the closing table and exchange keys is very rewarding.
What do you least like about your job?
The hours are not always the best and I work most Saturdays and Sundays.
What do you do to develop relationships with potential clients?
I love networking. Part of that for me is supporting, volunteering, and attending community events. My team and me also enjoy hosting our own community outreach such as providing free coffee at a local coffee shop or renting the ice deli and giving out snow cones. We do our best to support local businesses. The goal is to allow people to get to know me not only as a broker, but also as a fellow neighbor in Springfield.
Which organizations are you a member of/volunteer for?
IWIL (Illinois Women in Leadership), CAR (Capitol Area Realtors), BNI (Business Networking International), DSI (Downtown Springfield Incorporated), Springfield Social Club, Hope School Institute, Habitat for Humanity, SIU School of Medicine Cancer Research – Denim and Diamonds, World Vision, Springfield Lake Association and March of Dimes.
What is the first thing you do when you get home?
Change into my comfy clothes!
What is the last thing you do before you go to sleep?
Plug in my phone and double check my schedule for the next day.
